Tesla FC was founded in 2016 by former international professional soccer player Branko Smileski. After ending his European professional playing career where he played for FC Partizan in Belgrade and FC Bregenz and FC St. Polten in Austria, he became head coach for FC Bask and later FC Balkan, both in Belgrade. in 1998 he was recruited by the United States Soccer Federation to come to the United States and coach at Jacksonville University in Florida. After he left Florida he came to Illinois to become the head coach of the Lyons Township Soccer Club. In 2007 he finally came to Lemont to be the head coach of the Lemont Raiders FC. In 2016 the owner of the Raiders sold the organization to a club in Chicago, which left Lemont families and players without a local soccer club. That was when Coach Branko created Tesla FC. 

Tesla FC is a youth soccer organization dedicated to teaching and developing fundamentals and skills. Tesla FC practices and plays home games at Mt Assisi Academy in Lemont Illinois.  Tesla FC is the perfect transition from park district soccer. The club competes among the best teams in the state.
